Owing to this, Razumkov Centre is able to really influence the state authorities and public opinion in Ukraine. Universal and multidimensional character of research. Razumkov Centre is one of the few multi-field analytical centres in Ukraine which conducts comprehensive research in all areas of state policy. The Centre’s experts use the most up-to-date information from Ukrainian and foreign sources. All analytical materials contain practical proposals and recommendations for the bodies of state power and local self-government bodies. High professional level of experts. All Razumkov Centre experts have university degree; most of them hold academic degrees and titles. Experts constantly improve their qualifications, including in universities and educational centres abroad, have good command of foreign languages, methodology and skills of state policy analysis. Experts’ work experience in top level state institutions. The majority of Razumkov Centre experts have experience working for the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, Presidential Secretariat, embassies of Ukraine abroad. This experience enables to prepare on a proper level analytical materials and drafts of normative-legal acts and other state policy documents ready to be used in the work of state authorities. Experts’ pedagogical experience. Razumkov Centre has its own Sociological Service and network of interviewers in all regions of Ukraine. From 2002, the Sociological Service has been a member of the World Association for Public Opinion Research (WAPOR) and complies with its Code of Professional Ethics and Practices. The Code stresses, among other things, inadmissibility of misrepresentations, maximum accuracy and correctness. High accuracy and impartiality of Razumkov Centre’s sociological surveys were confirmed, in particular, by the results of exit poll during the presidential elections-2004. The magazine and editorial service. The Centre has its own publication — the “National Security & Defence” magazine which has been published since 2000. It comes out 12 times a year in Ukrainian and English, with total circulation of 3,800 copies. As a rule, the issues of the magazine are devoted to certain topics; they contain the research results in the framework of a separate project. Ukrainian language editions are mailed to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (personally to every people’s deputy and to the library of Parliament), Presidential Secretariat, the Cabinet, ministries and departments, and also to scientific, university and public libraries in all regions of Ukraine. The English language editions are mailed to foreign embassies and representative offices to Ukraine, to scientific and university libraries in many countries of the world, and to the think tanks abroad. Mobility of experts. The experts’ staff of Razumkov Centre is relatively small – about 35 people. But the Centre has experience in engaging other experts who work in state and non-governmental institutions into its projects, and the possibility to implement projects being a part of the consortiums of analytical centres. Thanks to this, the Centre is able to conduct comprehensive studies adequately and on a tight schedule.
